Scope of Inspection

This service focuses on the independent inspection of welded joints to confirm they meet required standards and project specifications. It identifies defects, poor workmanship and non-compliant welds before they become costly failures. Welding inspection plays a critical role in safety, quality assurance and long-term asset reliability across mining, construction and fabrication projects. Some welding inspection roles include:

NDT Services
Welding sparks on steel ring

Non-destructive testing assesses the condition of materials and welds without affecting their usability. This service supports safety compliance, quality control and asset life management by identifying defects early and accurately — before failures occur and while assets remain operational in service environments. Some NDT projects include:

  • Ultrasonic inspection 150 tonne lifting lugs
  • Magnetic particle and visual inspection of lifting lugs of roof at Central Railway Station Sydney.
  • Mining equipment Visual Magnetic particle and ultrasonic
  • Ultrasonically Discovered a crack in the main converyor pulley at a mine

Supervisor

Supervision Responsibilities

This service provides on-site oversight of welding activities to ensure work is carried out in accordance with approved procedures, drawings and standards. A welding supervisor coordinates welders, inspections and documentation to prevent rework delays and any compliance issues with work that is carried out. Supervised works include:

  • Welding supervisor welding inspector and NDT technician of Millienium train bogie fabrication (2000). Development of welding procedures for this project with trains still running today
  • Qualified welding operators at Mt Isa 2013
  • Supervised and inspected the main pressure pipe repair at a major Goldmine 2014
  • Locomotive bridge repair in Sydney
  • Supervised the welding and procedure development for a class 1 pressure pipe at a goldmine
